Jeans for Genes day a success

Mon 15th Oct 2012

Each year Genetic Disorders UK holds a Jeans for Genes Day (everyone wears jeans to work) to raise money and awareness of children living with genetic disorders. 30,000 children are born every year in the UK with a genetic disorder.

This year the Rydon and Ryhurst Teams based in the Preston office decided to raise money for this very worthy cause, Jo Thomas from Ryhurst’s Space Utilisation team headed up the organising of the event.

The activities that the teams took part in were:

  • Wear Jeans to work
  • Guess the Weight of the Cake
  • Wear a Hat to work
  • Wear anything else denim or blue to work
  • Raffle

The total raised on the day from these activities was £50.

The money raised will pay for a mother to attend a support day where she will receive advice and the guidance needed to care for her disabled child.

Congratulations and thanks to both teams for your support.
