Daisyfield Mill – Space Utilisation Project Updates

Progress on the Space Utilisation project at Daisyfield Mill in Blackburn is well underway with a number of the Trust’s departments now taking residence in their new work space.


Daisyfield Mill is one of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s (LCFT) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) facilities, and is the first clinical building to undergo the space utilisation process. It is anticipated that Daisyfield Mill will set a benchmark for similar projects within the clinical environment in the future.

Area A:


  • Designated Agile Working Area


  • Successfully complete and occupied on Monday 29th February 2012;
  • Now has 54 desks, this is a 68% increase from 32 desks that were originally in this area at the start of the refurbishment project;
  • A further 6 offices/meeting rooms created.


Area B:


  • Primary Care / Mind Care


  • Refurbishment commenced on Friday 9th March 2012;
  • Completion anticipated 17th and 18th March 2012;
  • Now has 42 desks this is a 68% increase from the 25 desks that were originally in this area.


Area C:


  • Complex Care Treatment Team


  • Refurbishment complete on Friday 16th March 2012;
  • The refurbishment has provided a 44% increase in desk space.


Ground Floor:


  • CFHS (Child and Family Health Service)
  • Service Improvement


  • Refurbishment is due to commence towards the end of May 2012.
  • This will open up the office area, removing unused offices and a consulting room which will assist in providing capacity for:
    • 94 desks
    • 2 meeting rooms
    • 2 manager/Doctor offices
    • Track shelving records store room
